Clicks Pharmacy, Centurion Mall: statistics more important than well-being
Background: a family members hundreds of km away is having a migraine attack. A friend recommends a product, unsure if they bought at Clicks or Dischem. Frantically I go to Clicks for a quick Yes/No - "Do you stock this product?" - in order to recommend back home where to buy that. The First customer-facing personnel ignores me from literally a metre away, and so does the Second. My only other option was to punch a ticket and wait. When my ticket was finally called, it took literally a second to get a Yes response. Pharmacy Manager, Anne Nhura reiterated that it is company policy to not attend to anyone without a ticket. Not only is this inflexibility reckless and potentially risky, given that a minute might be crucial for someone's well-being. More disappointing was the said Manager's insensitive comment, paraphrased that the company spent a lot of money the ticketing machine and therefore must be used without exception. The insinuation is that collecting statistics is more important than well-being, is not consistent with the responsibility that comes with managing a health service. Inflexibility, extreme incompetence and recklessness.
