Clicks Pharmacy Parkrand
Complaint(formal email also sent) regarding the service I received at the Clicks Parkrand Pharmacy on the evening of 02.02.2026, shortly before 18:00.
I visited the pharmacy with my 18-month-old son after noticing a bumpy rash on his inner thigh. After waiting a considerable amount of time to be assisted, I approached the pharmacist on duty at counter 4 (male pharmacist). Unfortunately, I did not note his name at the time due to being distressed and upset. My queue number was 263/265.
I showed the pharmacist a photo of the rash and was asked my child’s age. Upon advising that my son is 18 months old, I was informed that he could not assist me as my child is under two years of age and that a prescription would be required. No guidance, advice, or alternative over-the-counter options were offered — not even general products such as zinc-based creams or basic care advice. I was effectively turned away without any attempt to assist or provide professional guidance.
This is unfortunately not an isolated incident. I have experienced slow service and a lack of helpfulness at this branch on several previous occasions. As a parent seeking urgent advice for a young child, this experience was both disappointing and stressful.
While I understand that there are regulations regarding the dispensing of medication to young children, I would reasonably expect a licensed pharmacist to provide general advice, explain options, or guide a parent appropriately rather than refusing assistance outright.
I respectfully request that store management review this incident and provide feedback on the outcome, as well as outline what steps will be taken to improve customer service and professional conduct at this branch.
I look forward to your response Parkrand.
Kind regards, Colleen
