Clicks Mall@Carnival - Unprofessional and rude
On Sunday the 26th of January I visited the Clicks at Mall@Carnival Shopping Centre. I went to the pharmacy which uses a "take a number" system to manage the queue. I took a number and fell in line. My number was called and I was directed to window 1. All I required was for my monthly supplements (one box) to be processed on my medical aid which takes 2-minutes. The lady took the box of supplements and my medical aid card but before she started to process it a colleague spoke to her and she subsequently pushed the box of pills and my card back over the counter and told me to fall back in line because she needed to do something else first and she started typing on her computer. I told her that she was being rude but reluctantly fell back in the queue however I then also noticed that my number was no longer on the automated queuing system as it had already been called. I expected that I would be helped by the next available pharmacist as I was rightfully next in line but some time later (the service was quite slow) the system called the next number which was the person behind me in the queue who was then helped. I went back to the lady who was supposed to help me, and who was still busy capturing data and asked her to explain to me why I now had to wait for her while the people that are behind me in the queue is being assisted first. She just told me to wait in line and that she would help me when she was done. I went to the front of the store and explained my situation to the person who identified himself to be the manager but when he heard it was a pharmacy-related complaint he told me I needed to speak to the pharmacy floor manager. He escorted me to the pharmacy and went to look for the manager who was apparently also busy dispensing medicine. That is when I decided I am done with Clicks. The reason I frequent Clicks instead of Dischem is that Clicks’ is usually not as busy and therefore the queues are shorter but now I understand why. Luckily there is a Dischem in the same mall and, even though the shop was quite busy, I got my supplements processed faster than the time I stood in line at Clicks before the whole ordeal. Thank you Clicks for opening my eyes and forcing me to the competition.
