Clicks health care uses Expired Equipment
Made an appointment with the clicks nursing sister to draw blood for Hba1c testing to be sent to pathcare labs. On the day of the appointment, the nursing sister aside from being unsure of procedures and what to do or what to ask... Displayed a general lack of professionalism. But this is not the main complaint.
The sister used an old, very old pathcare form to complete my details and request for the necessary blood tests. When it came to drawing my blood, I noticed that the viles for the storage and transport of the blood had moisture and white blotches inside them. I queried as to why these had the blotches and if they are still good. On further inspection, these viles or tubes had long been expired. The sister apologized for them and started to look for new viles. But wow... EVERYTHING... ALL THE VILES AND TUBES HAD EXPIRED... Almost 8 months expired...
I was asked to go to blue route or come in again the next day... Really... After booking this appointment two weeks in advance and fasting to do the test this was the best for their incompetence and LACK of professional health care... Had I not checked this, the sister would have used these viles and the possibility of a incorrect result and unnecessary costs to me.
Sadly Clicks Capricorn has displayed deplorable health care standards by failing to adequately stock equipment for the basic services that they render. In my opinion, it appears that these outdated equipment and needles and viles have been in use prior to me and Clicks has been happy to charge customers for old expired equipment.
