Clicks Dispensary - *********
I had a prescription for antibiotics and anti inflammatories.
Locum pharmacist Morris Mahori, at Clicks Clearwater, handed the medication to my father and told him that there was a levy but that he could download the discovery app and it’ll be refunded within 48 hours
I immediately downloaded the app with my receipt and the medical aid declined. They claim the medication was not put on medical aid and that the pharmacist gave it on cash
Only my repeat prescription was purchased with medical aid.
The pharmacist in essence ****; there was no levy because the medication was not purchased on medical aid
He mislead us, and now we have essentially paid cash almost R600 for medication that could have been avoided. There is a reason we have medical aid, so that our medication is paid for and so that we ideally do not pay levies.
Clicks head office rep**** to my complaint and promised feedback but each time I follow up awaiting this feedback my emails are ignored.
Clicks Clearwater called me and told me that if I could not afford the medication I should have only taken the antibiotics. Her opinion is not valid because she is not a doctor! Her opinion is also uninformed because she did not even ask my symptoms or condition.
The antibiotics made up most of the cost. The pharmacist did not have the decency to offer a generic or a cheaper alternative. He is supposedly the expert, we are the customers.
I am certain that clicks has a policy that encourages pharmacists to make patients pay as much out of their pockets that they can, which includes misleading patients and lying to them.
I have been trying to get hold of the manager to move my repeat prescription to Dischem so that I do not have to deal with clicks anymore, she is never available.
My family members have also moved to Dischem.
