Clicks Clinic Woodlands Boulevard

My mother-in-law (aged 67) went to Clicks Woodlands Boulevard to find out how to go for the Covid injection at the clinic as this is one of the Covid Injection sites as per the Government Covid website. She already registered on the Covid site and was told by our house dr that she no longer has to wait for her second sms from the government before she goes for the injection. She was however turned away and told she could not be helped because she did not receive her second sms from the government. My parents (aged 76 and 80) went yesterday to the same Clicks Woodlands Boulevard they also registered on the Covid website and also only received the registration sms and not the second sms.

They were handed the necessary documents to fill in and was told to return this morning to receive their injection. (how is it possible that one person gets told she cannot receive the injection unless she receives the second sms from the government and another gets accepted with only their registration sms?)

However, when my parents arrived at the clinic as per their appointment to receive their injection on their scheduled appointment, they were also showed away because they do not have a medical aid. According to the Covid 19 Government website Clicks Woodlands Boulevard is registered as one of the Covid injections sites and we are told to go to our nearest site. Nowhere on the Covid 19 Government does it state that only "certain" of the registered injection site will accept "certain" people meeting "certain" criteria.

For those covered by medical aid, funding will be derived from schemes, even though it will be administered for free at the point of service.

Thulare said there was also the option for uninsured patients to be vaccinated at a private facility.

"For those who are not on a medical aid and wish to be vaccinated in the private sector sites, there will be an administration fee that is paid to those private sector vaccination sites.

"This is a quantum that has already been calculated and is line with the cost of administration and the cost of any other consumables that may be used. We have estimated this between R50 and R60 rand per episode," she said."

(how is it then possible that people are being turned away by Clicks Woodlands Boulevard because they do not have a medical aid?)
