Clicks Carletonville frustrating after-service

On Friday, 23 February 2024, I purchased handwash refills (3 x litre Oh So Lovely brand) from Clicks Carletonville, 15 Gold Street. The price promotion was clearly marked 3 for 2 valid from 21/02/24 to 20/03/24). I later discovered that I was charged for all three items without the promotion being app****. On Sunday, 25 February 2024, I returned to Clicks with my cash sale slip in an attempt to correct the promotion product. After unsuccessfully getting any help, I joined the queue to get to the cashiers. I was assisted by a cashier by the name of Daan and Supervisor by the name of Thembisa. After showing them the promotion they proceeded to carry out various scans and eventually processed my refund.

I accept that I should have checked my cash sale slip before leaving the store. Over the years, I unfortunately have come to trust certain transactions at face value.

I am a bit disappointed by the way both Daan and Thembisa handled the matter. They seemed indifferent. Neither offered an explanation of what went wrong with the pricing and payment processing. I did ask what went wrong and was told my Thembisa that it was not registered. Neither offered an apology for the inconvenience.

I wonder how often these issues arise. I feel sorry for others that may have also bought the same promotion item without noticing.

Clicks, I hope that you treat customers with more empathy sometimes.
