Ckicks tony and guy straightener quit working after a year

I bought a Tony and guy hair straughtener at ckicks a year ago. The product carries a 5 year guarantee. The swivel cord glue has worn out so now the straightner does not heat up as before. Clicks stores the product but now refuses to honour the guarantee saying I should return to tony and guy in America. Hello
