Chronic hassles with chronic meds.

Clicks pharmacy at The Glenvista branch has become a chronic pain in my backside when trying to get my and my wife's chronic medication from them each month. The medical aid plan I am on with Discovery forces me to use a "MedXpress partner" pharmacy otherwise I have to pay a fat surcharge. Today once again I had an unpleasant experience at Clicks. A problem which crops up with anoying regularity. One or more line items being left off the standing repeat prescription. While I was trying to establish what had been left out the "pretend pharmacist" was helpful enough to spot it with his "trained eye" and point out which one it is to add. (One line item also left off my wife's). I get home, unpack the "security sealed" little plastic bag only to discover there is still one more line item missing that was not dispensed. If this was a once off it would be one thing but is at least the third time. There have also been at least two instances of the incorect strength of a tablet being dispensed! {once on my prewcription and once on my wife's}

Today I phoned immediatley when I saw the missing item after I got home, one has to contend with an automated answering service, carefully I select the correct option for the "dispensary". A person answers and I can hear it is a male so I proceed to complain after pointing out that I was there by him to collect my meds less than 15 minutes ago. Only to be told: "please hold on I will put you through to the dispensary". {why did I bother to pick that menu option in the first place. } So I get to speak to the person behind the dispensary counter that dealt with me a bit earlier. He takes exception to my complaining about the short supply and shift the blame onto whoever. I ask for the missing item to be dispensed and please deliver to me. "Sorry we don't do deliveries". So I switch off the home oxygen again, take the portable oxygen, get back in the car and drive to Clicks again. To say I was hot under the collar is to put it mildly. I arrive and the man behind the counter hands over the 'waiting' bottle of tablets that was prepared as I requested. I blow of steam further only to be told "I don't have to put up with you and this ranting", speak to the manager. Manager comes closer, listens to my bitter complaints, point out to him as well that it is not the first time, he shrugs his shoulders as if to convey ---"what can/must I do?" My suggestion would be that if Clicks want to pretend to operate pharmacies, they should employ suitable qualified and s****ed pharmacists. Dispensing wrong meds or wrong strengths could be deadly for some people.
