Bad Service and Attitude from manager
Bad Service and Attitude from manager regarding refund I recently got a few gifts from my aunts and in-laws for Christmas, therefore creating a few gifts that I did not want to keep and use. As well as my partner, he got a deodorant gift set (axe) which he doesnt use as well as another gift which he would not use (another aftershave). We wanted to exchange this for other items which we would actually use, as in perfume / deodorant or the essentials. I was highly dissapointed, as I use Clicks 99% of the time and I was very excited with your new branch opening at Comaro Crossing, Oakdene, JHB South. However yesterday, the 26th December I went there with these few gifts to exchange and the teller advised that she would call the manager. Without even greeting, the manager started off with a bad attitude. I explained that we would like to exchange, we do not expect a credit note or cash. She then advised me that it is my gift and I should use it!! I advised that my partner does not use these aftershaves/deodorants and we will rather swop for something we do use. I was then advised that this will not be possible, that because my family/extended family MIGHT have bought these gifts on 3 for 2, that I will have to give one of the 3 gifts back for FREE!!
So therefore losing out on one of our gifts worth R120?? She then advised that this is the policy and that she will not be able to assist me if I do not give one gift as the 3rd one "free" and she did not know what to then do with the 4th one, as there are not 2 more gifts to use as buy 3 get 1 free?!!!!!!!!!
After much deliberation she then let me exhange 2 gifts for an item but would not give me the R2.50 to me which the cashier wanted to (I was not even interested in the R2.50) so then, I bought a water so that I could PAY IN and get my slip.
We then went to another branch to swop the other 2 gifts we had which we could not exchange at Comaro Crossing. This branch's manager was so willing to assist! She found no problem in telling us the value of the 2 items we wanted to exhange and the teller was more than happy to give us 40c (Which I stated I dont need) but they insisted that I take the change!!!!!!!!!!
How can 2 stores be so different in handling Christmas Gift exchange? If your policy is that 1 of the gifts must be taken for free, as per your manager at Comaro Crossing I can contact head office and this is your policy?!
I would like something done about the bad attitude of the manager at Comaro Crossing and I would like an apology for being treated like this in the store, while all the cashiers had something to say!
As a very loyal supporter, I am actually dissapointed and saddened with this service and will never go back to this branch!!
