Bad customer service

Went to return a hair machine I bought for my fiance today that I bought last week. It didn't do its job. They could not take it back because of "hygiene purposes" which I understand. but if something isn't working like it's supposed to then obviously there must be something wrong with it? I left the shop very upset with a item that doesn't work. Will never go there again.
