Appalling Service
I spent a good part of an hour disputing with pharmacists at Clicks Pharmacy over a repeat prescription. I was accused of overdosing and apparantly being at 2 places at the same time collecting medication in question.
I was told my prescription had run out for certain sleeping medication. When I went to collect more from a new script, I was told I have collected more than I was supposed to and that they couldn't help me. As I tried to explain it couldn't have been me, as I'm in Cape Town, and the collection they were going on about was made in Pretoria, my protests were met with disdain. I further tell them I won't be able to sleep as I have a diagnosed chronic disorder and am currently in first trimester of pregnancy, I was met with a long lecture of how I could be harming my baby and if they dispensed the sleeping pills, they could be liable if anything aught to happen to the foetus. I told them my Psychiatrist and GP okayed the sleeping pills, the response to that statement was that neither the GP or psychiatrist are OBGYN or Pediatrician' s, that they have no right to make that call. I explain it's too early for me to see one, and they tell me they wish they could help. That i must speak to one, then get back to Clicks when I've done so. I even had my GP office call to speak to them, she was met with the same unhelpfulness. She had been trying to ask them if she should resend the Script as it had two repeats left. On top of all that, the pharmacist them tells me they can't dispense medication from a faxed script.
I'm incensed and rattled at the treatment I received from Clicks today, at some point I burst into tears from frustration, I couldn't believe that these people are basically telling me I'm addicted and I've been overdosing, they even had the gall to read me the contra indications and warnings of the sleeping pill Zopivane. It's festive season, the Dr's are on leave, they have left me with absolutely no options, I'm new to the city and have absolutely no idea where to turn.
