On Sunday the 6th of October I went to Clicks Jubilee Crossing for my monthly supplies. As I walked in, I took the big trolley. I bought whatever I needed, plus 2 x 18's packs of toilet roll. As usual the staff were very friendly (I applaud them for this!). The lady at the till was also very nice and friendly. The problem started when I was leaving. The security woman by the door told me I am not allowed to take the trolley outside (here we go again!). I asked her how I am supposed to carry the 2 x 18's packs of toilet roll, the other stuff in the big plastic bag, and my handbag? She shrugged and said if I take it out, I will have to bring it back. Really???? Seriously?? This happened to me a few months back. I complained, then it "stopped", or so I thought.... Why are we NOT notified as we walk in, BEFORE we buy, so we can make informed decisions?? Why isn't there a note by the trolleys, informing us that we only "use them until we pay", then we are on our own??? Why are things okay until AFTER you pay, then, problems start!!! She followed me outside, saying that I would have to bring the trolley back. People actually stopped and listened to our back and forth! So my question is, why couldn't she just have quietly walked out with me, and brought the trolley back, like she did? I happened to have parked right by the door, but I still wouldn't return the trolley. Unemployment is at an all time high, so why can't Clicks hire people whose duty it would be to ensure that all trolleys are back? Why are we treated so badly at township malls? Why don't we experience the same treatment, because at the end of the day money is money, irrespective of who it comes from!!
