WORST DISHEARTENING and Disappointing Experience at Clicks Pharmacy in Rustenburg Magaliesview 😔

I recently had a disappointing experience at Clicks Pharmacy in Rustenburg Magaliesview. I visited the pharmacy to request emergency contraception and was attended to by a middle-aged Afrikaans female pharmacist.

I want to highlight the pharmacist's demographic details solely to identify the specific staff member involved, as I am struggling to understand her behavior.

When I approached her stall in the self-medication section to request emergency contraception, she initially seemed professional and provided me with a form to fill out. However, the tone of the interaction shifted dramatically when she handed me the medication after I signed the form. Upon confirming that I understood the contents of the form, she audibly said "be careful" in a manner that was loud enough for nearby patients and other pharmacy patrons to hear.

I felt deeply shamed, embarrassed, and belittled by her comment. As a full-grown adult, I expect to be treated with respect and dignity, especially when seeking healthcare services. Her remark not only undermined my intelligence but also made me feel like I was being lectured or scolded in a public setting.

Given that I had carefully read and answered all the questions on the form, I was taken aback by her condescending tone. Her comment seemed to imply that I was incapable of understanding the process or making informed decisions about my own health.

What struck me most was the lack of sensitivity and professionalism displayed by the pharmacist. In 2025, I expect healthcare professionals to provide compassionate and non-judgmental care, particularly when dealing with sensitive topics like reproductive health. Her behavior not only worsened my already challenging day but also left me feeling disrespected and humiliated.

I hope that Clicks, Magaliesview Pharmacy will take my feedback seriously and provide additional training to its staff on empathy, professionalism, and patient-centered care. I would appreciate it if the management could address this incident and ensure that patients like me feel respected and supported when seeking healthcare services.
