CONTAMINATED CHOCOLATE LEAD TO SEVERE FOOD POISONING

Formal Complaint: Contaminated Chocolates and Subsequent Food Poisoning

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the contaminated chocolates purchased from your KZN store. [my children, aged 12 and 15, consumed the chocolates and subsequently suffered from severe food poisoning.

The incident required immediate medical attention, and my children were rushed to the trauma unit. The attending physicians confirmed that the chocolates were the cause of the food poisoning through blood tests.

As a single mother, still grieving the loss of their father in March this year, witnessing my children endure such pain and suffering has been devastating.

I have submitted all relevant medical bills, totaling over R10,000, to Clicks for reimbur*****t. However, your department has repeatedly requested a comprehensive medical report. Given the trauma unit's dynamic environment, with multiple doctors attending to patients, obtaining a single, detailed report is challenging.

I respectfully assert that, as the manufacturer and retailer, Clicks should take responsibility for obtaining the necessary documentation from the hospital, at your expense, if required.

As a consumer, I am protected under the Consumer Protection Act, which holds manufacturers and retailers accountable for product safety. I urge Clicks to acknowledge this incident's severity and take prompt action to compensate me for the medical expenses and emotional distress caused.

It is sad that life's don't matter to big supplier.

We think we are safe buying from Clicks but think again.
