No Customer care at all
I was given a gift voucher for R500 that was bought at the customer care counter in the mall. This voucher can be spent in any store. I went to Ackerman’s for my first purchase. The cashier swiped the card over 20 time was declined each time. I asked the cashier to call the customer care counter to check the card. She said that she could not and that I should go to the CC counter and query. I did not know where the CC counter was cashier gave me directions. I did tell her that she should have a contact number at hand for such an incident instead for sending a pensioner to walk so far. The lady at the CC counter said the card was fine and that I must tell the casher to use EFT or Master card. I asked the CC counter for a ph. number in case of another incident. Back at anchorman’s the cashier swiped the card again, was declined again. By now I was so tiered and annoyed. I ask casher to call the CC counter, she would not. So I called on my cell and gave the phone to casher they spoke and the swipe was approved. Next store Pick n Pay, same thing happen again declined, declined. He said that I should go to the CC counter and query or make an alternative payment. I told him what happed at anchorman’s I asked the Supervisor/cashier to call the customer care counter. He said he would and left me standing there alone I watched him and realized that he did not have a ph. number. I gave him the ph. number. By now I more than tiered stressed and annoyed and hungry. My 13 year old was hungry & ate the chips and cooI drink. Supervisor said he called CC counter and tired the again, declined again. He said if does not work and just left me standing there, I have sugar diabetes. By now I was weak, thirsty, tiered, stressed, annoyed & hungry. There were not going to do any more so I call the CC counter from my cell while talking to her my airtime finished. I asked supervisor if I could call on their phone. The CC counter said that there was nothing she could do till the next day. I tried to tell her that I cannot afford to drive to the mall again she was insistent. By now my head was pounding I could feel a migraine coming on, the left side of my face was twitching I felt as if I was going to have a stroke right there I was so angry I threw the card on the floor and left Pick n Pay. Then I went back to pay for the chips and cool drink. There is still R156 on that gift card. It was a nightmare. So I have lost R156 on that gift card. It was the worst shopping experience e ever .
