If you run a parking business, then take all SA currency!
On 19 Aug I went to Clearwater Mall, parked outside the shop I wanted to visit. I was done in 10 minutes max. I went to pay for parking. The machine did not accept my credit card. I don't carry cash, but luckily I had a R200 note (birthday gift). The machine did not accept my R200 note. I got into my car and thought maybe I can get out if parking is free within 1 hour (obviously not). Needless to say, I could not get out. The intercom lady said I had to reverse. I indicated to the 3 cars behind me that I must now reverse - it was a single lane exit. After a lot of frustration, I managed to get back into the mall and somehow had to find the mall office where I was suppose to pay. My shopping took 10 minutes, and leaving the mall took 50 minutes. My message to the owners of Clearwater Mall is : "if you want to run a parking business, please take SA currency, which includes credit cards and R200 notes". If I deal with one tenant in Clearwater Mall, I cannot go to another tenant to get change. I will now support malls in the area where I don't have to pay for parking.
