Where is the won R10 000 draw amount?
My wife bought a table at Clearance Warehouse Furniture, Montana branch in 2022, and was entered into a lucky draw.
On 4 January 2023, she received a congratulatory WhatsApp message with a draw video clip, where she was declared a December 2022 R10 000 winner. Her name was called out as a winner in the video: Esther Mashimbye , Invoice number: INV45735
We called the shop to verify the message and video. We were satisfied that this was not some ****.
She received a second message where they needed her account confirmation details. The bank account confirmation letter was via WhatsApp back to the shop on 4 January 2022.
After numerous update request, until to date, the R10 000 amount has not been transferred into her account. The message she received was: …"it is handed over to Finance Department- will send the proof of payment over once paid.
All we need is the transfer of the R10 000 prize amount into Esther's account as promised by Clearance Warehouse.
On the 22 February 2023, my wife received a message that she has forfeited the prize as she failed to delete the review on Hellopeter platform.
This happened after we sent a message to CWA asking what should we do after they tagged us our Hellopeter review and said " Please assist". We responded like this: "how can I assist?".
No response came through on what we should do until today when we received a message that said: All content with your name on has been removed on our platforms. ...as thetime has reached 24 hours. It was unfortunately forfeited."
Now we want the country to regard this as a strategy where a winner is confirmed, no payment is transferred for about two months, and when the winner request for an update, there is no response from CWA. You write a review on Hellopeter, they order you to remove before even receiving the prize.
To us this looks like a strategy where our name was used as the whole country knows that we have won a prize from CWA; and would like people to know that the prize never came through but was cancelled on technicalities.
Never trust these draws.
