Disappointing, unhygenic food experience @ Big Red Barn's Clay Cafe

We were very disappointed with our eating experience at the Big Red Barn's Clay Cafe. We had heard so much about this venue that we thought to give it a try, but never again! 1.We walked in and on the second table inside this cafe, the people sitting there had their puppy sleeping on top of the table. My immediate thought was that this was rather unhygenic...especially if food should be served there. 2.We were then ushered to a table just outside., which was covered with a dirty piece of brown paper covering the top as a tablecloth! 3.We each ordered appletisers to drink. My husband received ice in his glass and I did not! 4 .My glass smelt like it had been washed with egg and I could not use it. I then had to order a straw! 5.The Waitor brought me a paper straw, which I appreciated because I support the fight against plastic pollution, BUT I was disgusted that it was handed to me with no paper covering it and with his bare hands. With all the illnesses of today, this shocked me. So I whipped out my sanitizer and wet wipes and thoroughly cleaned the can where I would place my mouth to drink. 6. We ordered chicken strips and chips to share! Once again the waitor did not use proper hygenic methods of serving this platter, as he was holding the platter with his right thumb right over one of the chips. I noticed that his thumb nail was grossly dirty and after he placed the platter down, I immediately removed the chips affected by his thumb. 7. The salt and pepper grinders were also filthy and sticky, that I once again used my wet wipes to clean them. 8. The meal itself, left a lot to be desired because each chip was like a quarter of a potato, resembling a wedge not a chip. Plus the chips were extremely oily and unappetizing . The chicken was no better! A public service like a restaurant should have hygiene and cleanliness at the top of their list of priorities. I do not recommend this cafe to anyone wanting a memorable food experience. It is an experience we want to forget!
