Poor quality of employees.

My neighbor employed an employee of Classy Crete to erect razor wire on top of my concrete wall dividing the neighbors and my property. A Nelson Naidoo of Classy Crete dealt with her using the Classy Crete name. My fence has been badly damaged because concrete panels were drilled into and wire passed through the holes in an attempt to secure razor wire. Chunks have been knocked out of 15 panels where the holes were drilled . This has severely weakened them, now posing a big risk of them cracking and breaking in the future. I discussed this with my neighbor who called Naidoo out to site. Naidoo wanted to plaster over the large craters in my fence caused by him. I told him that this does not address the compromised strength of the wall and that I wanted the damaged panels replaced instead. He refused. The necessity to replace the panels has been confirmed in an assessors report.

I contacted Classy Crete head office who distanced themselves from this employee (naidoo). They stated that they do not install razor wire as part of their business , he must have done this in his private capacity and as such it is not their responsibility. It was then requested of me that I litigate against Naidoo personally and give him the bad publicity not Classy Crete. I was told that they were dealing with Naidoo. I have had absolutely no feedback subsequent to this communication. This company hasn't had the decency to even give me feedback as to what actions have been taken against Naidoo.

If Classy Crete employs people of so little s**** in their franchises that they do not know that precast wall panels cannot be drilled into, one needs to seriously questions the pre-employment vetting of their employees in general, their performance management of the aforesaid and the resulting quality of their of their workmanship in areas that they do i.e. concrete fencing.

Definitely cause to think!

Subsequently I have recontacted the franchise CEO who once again claimed that the legal responsibilities of his franchise owners are not his! He reiterated that Classy Crete does not do razor wire installation at all and anything Naidoo did to install razor wire was nothing to do with Classy Crete. I am however in possession of a quotation for razor wire installation on a Classy Crete letterhead. This I obtained from my neighbor. Somewhat of a contradiction! After receiving thinly veiled legal threats from the CEO indicating that he reserves his right to take legal action against me I contacted him and suggested that he force his Durban franchise owner to make good on the damages caused to my fence by him in a proper manner as per an assessor report or have his Franchise taken away in order to protect his Franchise group's image. He later informed me that he had spoken to Naidoo and Naidoo would contact me in the next week. He wrote that from this point onward I should only communicate with Naidoo. Naidoo has not contacted me weeks later. The CEO has not bothered to follow up and determine if Naidoo indeed contacted me. My recommendation to anyone considering using Classy Crete is THINK VERY CAREFULLY before doing this. In particular, the Durban franchise should be avoided at all costs as it is obvious that the technical engineering and quality control abilities in the Durban franchise are in short supply!
