Disapointed in quality of Krups Waffle Toaster and no feedback from Classic Houseware

I bought a Krups waffle toaster from Takelot after visiting my sister in Ireland, where I saw her Krups waffle toaster still had the non stick coating in tact after 17 years. I was impressed with the quality. I am a health coach and the safety of non stick is very important to me. I bought the Krups Waffle toaster on my return back in South Africa last year from Takealot.

The bottom plate on the right side looks slightly bend upward and it is at this corner that the coating started coming off. The supplier, Classic Houseware said it was due to my fault and that I caused the damage. I own several Le Creuset Non Stick pans and know how to work with non stick.

I take the waffles out by hand as it comes out so easy.

The toaster was send back to the supplier and the supplier refuses to sort the problem out and say it is me that caused the problem. Only I work with the toaster and I definitely did not use any tools on it and take good care of it as I also do with my other expensive non stick pans. I do not have anybody else that works in my house or use it. We do not have kids in the house either.

I am disappointed in this product, as it looked like a high end product. Even a cheap non stick waffle toaster would have lasted longer.

The supplier even said that I could still use the toaster after the coating starting coming off. Clearly the supplier does not know about the carcinogenic effect of non stick coating.

If the supplier did a proper inspection they would have seen that there is a structural problem with the Krups Waffle Toaster instead of blaming me.

I got the suppliers email address from Takealot. I send Colin an email, but he has not responded to my email, so I registered a complaint with Consumer Goods and Services Ombud: CGSO. It is a pity that one has to go so far to sort out this.
