Unshamedly rude and unfriendly

My mom and I were booked in for a 60-minute massage. We were greeted by very unfriendly staff but did not want this to deter us from an enjoyable afternoon. For medical reasons, I decided not to go ahead with my massage and so I sat in the salon working whilst waiting for my mom. The receptionist rudely told me I could not sit in the salon chair, as this was a different business to that run by the massage spa. I explained that I understood however there was not a single client in the entire establishment and of course, as any decent person would do, I promised to move when a client arrived so that I did not interfere with their business. She proceeded to tell me it didnt matter, and not being able to work in a different chair was 'not her problem'. It was completely unnecessary and ridiculous considering NO ONE ELSE was there. it was dead quiet and empty, but they drove me to actual tears.
