What an experience CK Coachworks Motor Group!
Now before you get too excited, this is not one of those feel-good stories - sorry to disappoint😞 It's just an experience to share and perhaps try and make this go viral as possible because reputable companies such as this should not get away with things or try to make it seem that it's okay to find excuses to get out of situations. I will continue to plot this on many social networks and platforms as I AM NOT PLEASED! After the heavy rainfalls this winter, my 2006 Opel Corsa Utility bakkies carpet managed to absorb at least 90% of water, resulting it in becoming unbearable through a smell which I couldn't get rid of. I tried towels, newspaper and opening the doors for ventilation but nothing helped! I thought, ok, as a last resort - let's try my insurance, Momentum and hear what they say. To my Suprise, I had special cover that would sort this out. The only thing, is that the vehicle needed to be sent to their recommended or preferred service provider which you should know - CK Coachworks Motor Group Took the vehicle there early morning with the accessor suggesting that they will "air dry" the carpet. My issue was that there is a leak and by air drying a carpet, wont solve the problem. I had to communicate this with my insurance, and with all honesty (give credit where it is due) my insurance was amazing - no hassles, no questions just ensuring that the client who pays his monthly premium for over 4 years was happy! Elton Du Preez, was amazing through this whole procedure! After complaining to my insurance, Elton, my insurance expert tells me not to worry, he will instruct CK to replace my carpet - no compromise and at the same time find the leak and fix it - i was excited! Dropped the vehicle on 10 August 2024 and started getting whatsapps from the service advisor that they need to get the go ahead from insurance to strip which eventually came on the 15 August 2024. Please note at this stage, the insurance INSTRUCTED THEM TO REPLACE CARPET. On 19 August 2024 i receive a message to say that my vehicle is being washed and ready for collection and need to pay the R1500 excess. Im like super excited and wanting to find out more, I ask "has the carpet been replaced?" The response - this was not authorised...sitting in front of the email in front of me, i ask the service advisor to open the particular email dated and then there was silence...ah she eventually saw it. Being the polite person I am, I gave her the benefit and said, ok will wait a bit longer for you to sort out (this is the reason I brought in the vehicle in the first place to replace carpet!) On 27 August 2024 I get another message - sir your vehicle is ready. At this stage, im like its finally happening. More than 2 weeks I get my bakkie back! Again, I ask, has the new carpet been fitted? Answer - NO! they dont make those moulds for your vehicle anymore but please remember to pay us your excess. Very confused and in utter shock, Im like - is this a prank? Is there a hidden camera somewhere? It took you 8 more days to play with my emotions? My response - shouldnt you then get an upholsterer in to do this? Her repsonse - Will action this.. A few days later, I get a message - Sir YOU NEED TO FIND AN UPHOLSTERER AND SORT THIS OUT YOURSLEF - THE INSURANCE WILL PAY. At what stage was this (as a client may i add) my problem? Why should i be phoning around for quotes? Trying to call the offices, ALL STAFF ARE ALWAYS IN MEETINGS. Returning my calls - never but get whatsapp messages after hours. Eventually, I sourced an upholsterer, McCarthy's Auto Trimmers-Pty Ltd in Diep River and i dealt with a lady Michelle, who was very polite and friendly offering to collect my car. So now the story gets juicy.... I fetched my vehicle on the 5 September 2024 from Mcarthys and loved the job they did. However, when driving away, I noticed my vehicle was not driving the same - sluggish, no power. Secondly, my air blower which i used occasionally was not doing anything anymore- at this time I am ****ed! Emailed the manager Shaun Logie, highlighting my frustration about communication, air blower not working, car driving slugish and a missing gearknob - all he does is apologise for the communication part and cant be liable for the missing gearknod ( which i know was in the car) and takes no responsibility for the slugish car. I took the car to the mechanic and found out that the pulley and sprocket was broken which cost me close to 2k to fix. The car was left in 100% working order with CK ( if there was an issue, i would of been notified) spending about 3 weeks there, how can you not take accountabilty for this or the air blower not working or the missing gearknob, thinking that an apology will make it all go away? So you might argue that perhaps it was Mcarthy, after collecting vehicle ? I have the voice note confirming how slugish the car was driving from CK to Diep River - which confirms!
