Worst organization to ever work for...

I have worked at Cityvarsity for half a decade and this was my experience as a lecturer.I wish there was a zero rating but I will give them 1.

Pros

Basically none,except that they have great lecturers with great experience.

Cons

Bad management. Taking their stuff forgrantted. ******, top position are for whites and Indians. White people earn more than blacks with less experience and less qualified. Salary is way below the market. Their leave days are not enough and they don't have lecturers relieve system. They don't take their students grieving serious. They don't have any benefits for stuff,no medical aid,no pension fund,no 13th cheque,just nothing. They retrenched their whole stuff only to hire them again with lower salary and their salaries were already below the market. Management can't provide feedback on anything. People are always resigning. Working hours are more that 8 hours but they don't pay for overtime. You work on Saturdays but you don't get paid for it and it was never mentioned on the contract. They treat they stuff badly especially administrators and cleaners. Management talk to stuff anyhow even to insult them. The work environment is dirty and offices are overcrowded with stuff. They always rewrite contracts and job descriptions without the affected employees signing them especially Braamfontein academic manager. Some of the HOD know nothing about course but they are given jobs because they are white.
