Municipality rates and electricity bill amounting from 6*** a month

I have made a verbal complain with City of Joburg, they told me that the problem is with City Power. I visited city power and submitted evidence in phtos, they came late at night whilst knowing that there is nobody sleeping in the house, they finally checked and told me my billls are normal. I wrote to the ombudsman and physically went there, and even emailed the obudsman but to date my case has not been dealt with. I am the former Director of the Land Access Movement of South Africa ( LAMOSA) a non profit organisations which acquired property and registered their bond in my name because they could not honour the total loan amount. The property was acquired with an understanding that it will be later transferred to the Trust as soon as it paid up, and be used as an office space to host the organisation and its allies The property was transferred in July 2015, with no remaining tenants behind. The organisation hired a security and finally moved into the premises at the end of October 2015. We realised after 4 months that the bill is unreasonably high irrespective of the fact that no one was using water and electricity from the beginning of August 2015. We immediately called the City of Jo’burg in the number provided, but could not get any response. We physically approached the City of Johannesburg and was given a reference number. The official realised that it is the bill from City Power, and not City of Johannesburg We then visited the office of City power and they promised to come and check. They came late at night and called us in our cellphone numbers ad they didn’t find anyone in the house. When they finally arrived, they told us that there is nothing wrong. We showed them wires that are hanging from the electricity pole and evidence of people digging to make new ******* connections but apparently they ignored us

The guy from City power refused to give us his name, so it became a sign that he is a dishonest person. The organisation is currently owe approximately R200,000 which is all in my name as a proprietor. We want to request a review of the bill and offer a settlement amount of R66,000 calculated as follows 2014- 1,500 x 5 months = 7, ********** - 1,500 x 12 = 18, ********** - 1,500 x 12 =18, ********** 1500 x 12 =18, ********** – 1500 x 3 = 4,500 Total = R66,000 We believe that it would a fair amount given the fact that we are using the house as an office and we have one person working there at night for security purposes, we are not using electricity and water for household consumption.
