Totally Disgusted
My husband was on his way from Pretoria to Richards Bay and phoned and pre booked 2 rooms at the Road Lodge in Richards Bay,as it was getting very late (11:00 pm) and they were exhausted. On arrival there the receptionist wanted my husbands ID book as is always the case, as my husbands uses this hotel group all over Southern Africa and usually books 2 or more rooms under his name, with no problem. I even sometimes do it online for him with no problem . She wanted the other gentleman's ID book which he did not have with him, whereby she then informed my husband that they must share a room, at this point my husband lost it, he is exhausted and never ever shares a room with anyone, and we never have had any of this nonsense before. <br> He pays for the rooms and takes responsibility for his staff. Is this how you handle people wanting to use your hotel who are prepared to pay for a full nights accommodation and 2 rooms at that late hour. He had to arrange for somebody to come and pick them up again (major inconvenience) and went to book into the Protea hotel, double the price but 2 rooms and no nonsense. You can phone my Husband on ***
Thank you for being a regular guest at our hotel and we certainly hope to retain our relationship with you well into the future. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you and your staff member. While our hotel was applying government-enforced identification regulations, we do take your point about this requirement being more fully flagged by ourselves for the benefit of our guests, and this will be addressed. We understand that the GM of the hotel has been in contact with you in this regard. Thank you again for staying with us.
