Out of pocket due to *********** staff

I did an online booking to stay in Road lodge Sandton. Eventually ended up at Rivonia and was made to pay out of pocket and informed to call Sandton on Monday. At no point did any of staff tell me to call Sandton to have booking changed immediately but was informed to call Sandton on Monday for a refund to b processed. I followed these instructions, yet now I am told by the manager that it is not their problem. I am very disappointed in the service I have received. I was not made aware of the correct process and now I am out of pocket and they could not care less
