No extra pillow for you

On our last night of a fun weekend with the kids in Cape Town we encountered a tiny hitch that was completely unsolvable by the duty manager at the Grandwest City Lodge. One of the kids accidently spilled cooldrink on a pillow.

Calling Nathaniel Hector, the only person on duty at reception, with our crisis, pleading our case and what we thought was a small request, was met by utter and complete disdain for our situation. As housekeeping is unavailable, no extra pillows are allowed to be given to us, not even from an empty room as suggested by my husband. Nathaniel tried to explain to me that we have already exceeded our occupancy allowance, what with our 2 small kids and all, and this on the night before we check out. Something that was cleared on our arrival mind you.

He proceeded to confidently inform me that IF I am unhappy, I can lay a complaint in the morning.

Never in all the hotels I have stayed in all over the world have I ever encountered such poor service from the hotel industry. A pillow for pete's sake, to sleep, is denied as an impossible request. Is it not something of a basic right to a good night's rest as promised by these people? Now I have to be the ***** to ***** about something so trivial, a simple basic request, not because I wanted or didn't want a feathered one or just needed to sleep higher or be more fluffed up.

Maybe I should just sleep on the wet one. Either way, it's not Nathaniel's problem...

The management of the hotel has tried to contact you by phone and by email, but have been unsuccessful thus far.
