Mistreated because i wasn't staying with City Lodge Hotel KE Masinga Durban

My name is Alex, i drive Bolt (also known as Taxify). I got a request to pick up at City Lodge Durban on KE Masinga Road. When i got inside the customer have chosen the wrong address. So i called and she said she chose the address by mistake. When i tried to drive out of the lodge i couldn't. There's another entrance on Bram Fischer Road. I also went to check if maybe that gate was opened after driving back and forth trying to trigger the sensor on the other entrance (KE Masinga). I relaized this gate was half opened and waited but nothing or no one came to my rescue, now bare in my mind I've got a client waiting for me. After sometime i went to the empty reception as the ladies were sitting at the back having coffee and a good chat. I asked them how do you get out from their lodge, and they told me they will look for the security guard, out of frustration i drove to the Bram Fischer entrance as i assumed since the gate was half opened the guard will be there. I waited for another 20 minutes, until a police man from the police station came in that gate and told me that entrance is closed. By then my client had canceled the order, which means i have lost business. After realizing that the request have been canceled. I waited to see if they will even bother letting me know that this entrance is closed. So i spoke to Sihle after like 30-40 minutes stuck inside this lodge. And she told me she would have apologized for if i had booked with them or staying with them. I am very disappointed with this lodge and would never pick up any client from there. I will also share me fellow Bolt drivers my experience.

We apologise for the frustration caused. For security reasons the Bram Fischer Road gate has been closed since the beginning of lockdown and as such cannot be used as a thoroughfare. However, staff of duty should have quickly assisted you.
