City Lodge OR Tambo

A friend of mine arrived very late from Europe and didn’t want to travel so late at night and I recommended City Lodge OR Tambo hotel. I called them before she arrived at Reception and asked for their rates in Euro and the lady on the phone last night said it is 112.24 Euros. I then told her that someone was on the way to make a booking. When my friend arrived at the reception desk, she was told to pay 18 Euros more. So I’m given one rate and then my friend is told to pay 130 Euros when she gets to the desk.

How is it that after 10 min, the price increased with 18 Euros?? Is it a way to **** foreign customers? No reason was given that the rates float with foreign currency. I was just given the amount to book a room.

My friend is really not happy and had to pay because she had to spend hours travelling here.
