JMH City staff ruined an otherwise easy and quick birth.

Gave birth last year at this hospital. The maternity ward staff were so rude. Felt like I was at a public hospital. Had to be extra nice and nurse their feelings as I was in a vulnerable position and i wanted myself and baby to be safe. They insulted me from the moment I came in till their shift ended just after I delivered. I was told my hairstyle was bad, told to get on the bed quickly for examination (while 8cm dilated), told to stop shouting in pain while i was in active labor because "we don't do that here". I was shocked because who labors silently? The nurses also took my son from my chest after about a minute, without asking me (he was perfectly healthy and there was no rush), and refused to take a picture of my newly extended family. The worst part is I was given an episiotomy despite saying no, and despite not struggling to deliver. I wanted and prepared for a 100% natural birth. If you plan to give birth here rather save your thousands of Rands and go to a government hospital. You might get better treatment there.
