So disappointed
On the 23rd of December 2024, we took delivery of a Fiat 500c, which we purchased from Citton Cars Menlyn. The Fiat was a Christmas gift for our daughter, she is going to college this year 2025. On the 21st of December 2025 we were told by the sales consultant to view the vehicle at Gezina branch. We got to Gezina branch and went to view the 2013 Fiat 500C Cabriolet we wanted to buy. The battery of Fiat was dead and the sales consultant that was assisting us on behalf of the sales consultant from Menlyn Citton Cars had to jump start the car. We were told, they will replace battery before delivery. On the day we signed the contract and took delivery of the Fiat 500C we were told that Fiat was serviced that morning and they replaced the battery. They were still busy with the smash and grab when we got there. Our sales consultant wanted to get everything done because he was not available on the 24th of December 2024, so we had to take delivery of the vehicle on the 23rd of December 2024. Our daughter had no idea that we were getting her a car, she was so surprised and extremely excited. Sadly, that excitement was short lived. We tried connecting her Iphone to the Bluetooth of the Fiat, it didn’t work. When we decided to do some research on YouTube, how to connect to Bluetooth, we only realized then that there was something wrong with the Blue and Me module, and the milage (kilometers) on the cluster shouldn't be flashing. We didn’t know it at the time we took delivery of the vehicle. The next day, the 24th of December 2024 me and my daughter took her Fiat to the shops to go and do some last-minute Christmas shopping. When we got home, my husband noticed it was leaking water, the pipe wasn’t fitted properly. I told my husband to leave it and that I will take the Fiat back to Citton Cars Menlyn after the public holidays. Me and my daughter took the Fiat to Citton Cars Menlyn on the 27th December 2024, 4 day’s later, the same week we took delivery of the Fiat. We met with our sales consultant and he asked someone to take a look and do a diagnostic test on the Fiat to see if he could find the fault. We were told that they can’t find the fault and that they have to send the Fiat to someone else that may be able to diagnose fault. Our sales consultant said that he would make arrangements and get back to us. So we left with the Fiat. On our way back the car stalled at every robot, noticed every time I start it again it revs very weak. We got home and in made it video to send to the sales consultant. He said it was due to the hard reboot they did on the Fiat. He said to wait for the new year so we can make arrangements to take the Fiat to Bosch service center. The sales consultant made a booking at Bosch for the 9th of January 2025. On the 5th of January 2025 my husband noticed that the new battery was completely dead. We jumped started the Fiat the morning that we had to take the Fiat to Bosch Gezina. When we got to Bosch my husband noticed that the kilometers on the Fiat changed. When we bought the Fiat the kilometers was 111 242 kms, but now it’s 204 346kms. The 1st thing that came to our mind was that someone turned back the kilometers on the cluster. I took a video and photos of the cluster. We went in to Bosch and asked the 1st service advisor we found to assist. We showed him the jump in kilometers. We left the Fiat at Bosch they said they would call us with an update. Sadly it was down hill from there. Communicating was limited from Bosch and Citton Cars. They don’t call us, we had to call them for updates. Their explanations different from one another, Bosch tells us what they think the fault may be and Citton cars telling us they are waiting for someone to do diagnostics. So we decided to go to the Menlyn Citton Cars branch to go speak to the manager and to cancel the transaction on the 14th of January 2025. When we got there the manager wasn’t available. We spoke to the sales consultant that sold us the Fiat. We told him we wanted to cancel the transaction. That we don’t want the car anymore. He asked if we could give them until Friday the 17th of January 2025. Friday came and went, but there was still no answer. On Monday I called Citton Cars Menlyn demanding to talk to the manager. I told him everything that happened, he promised that he will get to the bottom of this, he is going to make a few calls. He did call me back but his update was different from the update we got from Bosch service center. I believe him because he is the man in charge. Sadly he started avoiding our call too. So again we decided to go to Menlyn Citton Cars on Friday the 24th of January 2025 to see the manager and again to tell them to cancel the transaction. They suggested we should start looking at other vehicles they had for sale. We still gave them another chance and we were interested in a Suzuki S-Presso they had available. So we agreed on Suzuki. We went back on Sunday the 26th of January to go and show my daughter the car. We got to Menlyn and the car was no longer on the floor. We were told that the Suzuki S-Presso is at Citton Cars Gezina. So we left to go to the other floor. When we got there we couldn’t find the car. The sales consultant at Gezina told us that the car was sold on Friday. We tried being patient and understanding but they are not being honest. The transaction is still not canceled and we are receiving emails from Marquis Finance demanding the 1st installment. We still don’t have another car, the Fiat is still at Bosch and the transaction wasn’t canceled, It’s now the 30th of January 2025, we are so exusted and stressed. What did we ever do to them to be treated like this. We are still calling and sending What’sApp but every time just another story or they are simply just avoiding us.
