YOU ARE NOTHING BUT *******!

You are a bunch of dishonest, ********* and disgusting *******. How do you explain a tariff of R2.86 in the City of Johannesburg? And that is on Block 1. Do not try to confuse me with Incline Block Tariffs because I understand how that works. I bought all my 250 kWh on Block 1.

As for the ******* / bogus service fees that you are charging to “run your business”, NERSA’s regulations do not allow you to do that. You’re literally running a crime syndicate because the law does not allow anyone to make a profit through selling electricity. The total tariff that you charge should be the same as the one that Eskom and Municipalities are charging. *******!

“Nersa further directs that reseller bulk tariffs, that are part of the approved tariffs in most metros, should enable the reseller to make a profit while selling to the end-user at the same tariff, as they would have paid if they bought directly from the licensed distributor”

You are colluding with landlords to ***** from people. If my landlord sent you his municipal bill then why are you not using that tariff? Why does your system have room for people to be charged double rates? Why are you allowing this? Is not because you are *******? You need to tell me whether it’s you or my landlord that I must sue to recover the money that you both stole from me.

I’m taking this matter to NERSA, NCC and the RHT. A civil claim is not enough. I want a ******** investigation done on this illegitimate company!!!

Dear Artwell
We believe that our call centre supervisor has been in touch and that this matter is resolved.
For other consumers’ insight: Understanding how prepaid tariffs and recovery rates are calculated is very important before making such serious claims against Citiq Prepaid.
Firstly, prepaid sub-meters are not ******* and our business is operated in line with prevailing regulations. You are correct that the law, specifically the Rental Housing Act, does not allow anyone to make a profit on the supply of electricity to tenants. This is the reason why we request the municipal statements from landlords to verify that the recovery rate we set is correct and aligned to the landlord’s municipal tariff(you can have a look at our Terms to see the landlord’s responsibility). Both the landlord and tenant can log into the Citiq Prepaid Meter Management System at any time to check the recovery rate and the underlying municipal tariff. We pride ourselves that our system makes this as transparent as possible, and invite you to make use of it.
Secondly, the nature of prepaid sub-meters does incur additional fees due to the service we provide. We are not electricity resellers -. We are a service provider. We enable landlords to provide utilities (water and electricity) on a pay-as-you-go basis to their tenants. We need to charge an 8.45% service fee for this. For a breakdown of these costs, please visit https://www.citiqprepaid.co.za/faq/#does-all-my-money-go-into-purchasing-units.
Thirdly, municipal tariff amounts that are published are VAT exclusive. So the municipal tariff you quote will be higher when you add VAT and other municipal fixed fees.
We do understand your frustration, especially when there is confusion on how prepaid recovery rates are calculated. We also understand that the ever-increasing price of electricity creates massive anxiety and anger.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

Your device is not even SABS approved. It's just like a credit card skimming machine (designed to ***** from unsuspecting people).

"We enable landlords to provide utilities". No you enable theft. Landlords are claiming all sorts of monies through your devices. One can even claim money for hiring a gardener, his ****, his dry clean and even the tip to a waiter at a restaurant can be claim using Citiq meters.

You're providing a service that allows for citizens to be ******. Your service puts citizens of this country at a disadvantage because according to the law, everyone must receive the same rates as they would from the municipality. That is not the case with Citiq so I don't know how you people are still in business.

Better to go direct to the municipality instead of supporting this syndicate. And yes you'll pay at VAT the municipality in addition to the base tariff but they don't rip you off like these ******s.
