Very unhappy

I had a meter installed by citiq last month but regret it so much as I have never payed so much for electricity, I bought R300 units and only got 136.3kwh, this is horrible as I had another meter with eskom before and I bought the same amount and got 248.0kwh. I then contacted the call centre on the 1/08/2016 and the consultant I spoke to was fast asleep and advised me he will check it out and call me back, I am still awaiting his call, I then called again n the 4/08/2016 spoke to another consultant called Laeticia, she also advised they will call me back and no one called. This is horrible servise and I will never recomend anyone to go with citiq, They rob the people and provide bad customer service. They tell people it depend on the area and main property, however why can eskom give different service on the same property depending on the usage of the home the meter is installed in? These people should be out of business and I will make sure they remove this meter out of my home and everyone I know who have it. meter number: ********** 7125

Dear Tracey

Let me firstly apologise that no one got back to you. This is unacceptable and I am following this up.

From your comment, it woud appear that you perhaps do not fully undestand the service that Citiq Prepaid offers?

Note that Citiq Prepaid does NOT sell or resell electricity, nor do we set the price for the electrcity (tariff) on the prepaid meter - this is the property owner's resposnsibilty

Citiq Prepaid offers a service to Property Owners to help them recover the electrcity usage of tenants. When the meter is installed, the Landlord informs us of the Eskom tariff that he/she pays for the main property, and then we endeavour to recover that tariff for the owner using the meter - this is the resaon that the agent told you that the tariff it depends on the propery and area.

When a tenant purchases a recharge token, he/she will pay

 1. The Owners's Eskom tariff, plus
 2. The Citiq Prepaid service fee for the electrcity collection service (8.75% of the token value + vat

There migth be a small payment charge depsnding on whe re the tenants purchases the token, but this is ZERO if the tenant uses our EFT channel called SpeedPay

So, should you be unhappy about the tariff that you are paying, you need to speak to the owner of the property, who needs to instruct us on the tarifff that needs to be set.

I would love the opportunity to help you, and turn your customer service expereince around. Please let me have you meter number so I can check your tariff and ensure it is appropriate.

Kind regards

Simon Tippett (Director)

Hi Simon,

The meter number is ********** 7125, When they spoke to the owner to activate the box they told him it will be 59kwh per R100, you can call me and speak to him as he is aware of the issues I am having with your company, I have made 2 calls to your company with no luck,

The fact that your company charge (8.75% of the token value + vat is a lot, as we just buy from our cellphones, should that not be zero, how is your company still in business when they rob people? I see I am not the only one with these issues.

Dear Tracey

I have checked your building, and you are linked to the correct City of Cape town domestic tariff. I have called and left a message with the owner of your property; he migtht be willing to reduce the amount of his recovery and pay our service fee on youer behalf.

Unfortunately we cannot operate a complex collections business at no charge! Giveing tenants like yourself access to voer 100,000 token re-charge points collecting the funds for the Landlord and repaying them mpnthly is a very costly process. Citiq Prepaid has the LOWEST fess in the market, and is at the forefront in driving costs lower.

As I said in the previous message, using our speedPay EFT (using your FNB account) will reduce the payment charges to ZERO.

Kind regards

Simon

Good morning Simon,

He has been trying to get hold of you on 2 occasions, with no luck, could you contact him as he is awaiting your call.

or you can contact me and I will give him the phone as I am due to buy electricity and I refuse to pay so much, thus we will then remove the box and use another service that is willing and able to assist us.

Your company is not up to standard and your service is poor.
