No Free Basic Electricity
Citiq does not have the facility for pensioners(or anyone that qualifies) on sub meters to claim Free Basic Electricity. This is an infringement of our basic rights and is completely unacceptable that nobody at Citiq call centre can assist.
There must be a legal firm that will take this on, surely this should be a part of their license or agreement that enables their services.

Free Basic Electricity is provided to households by municipalities and Eskom in those areas where they supply. We cannot provide Free Basic Electricity as this is done by the Municipality (or Eskom) to the main meter, sub meters draw their power from this main meter.
This is a matter that you would need to raise with your landlord.
