Is Citiq giving Leeway to Landlord to lure them to their services?

I have had enough of Citiq Prepaid.

My Landlord installed Citiq prepaid electricity meters. Before the meters was installed I paid R3.50 per unit. after the Citiq meters were installed I paid Almost R7.00 a unit.

I mention this on hellopeter after which Citiq contacted me and they dropped the price to R5.64 a unit, they begged me to remove my negative review from hellopeter after they promised to send me a voucher pin to reimburse me for the difference on the electricity I already bought at the higher price, THIS NEVER HAPPENED. If Citiq and the Landlord is not profiting on electricity sales then why would they drop the price? Surely neither Citiq nor my landlord would sell electricity below cost?

A while after that, my landlord installed Citiq Prepaid WATER meters. I immediately checked their pricing and it seemed rather fair being only slightly more expensive than what the City of Cape Town charges.

I bought water at the following price>

[Block 0 to 6 : 1.8kl @ R23.37]

Today(a month later) I buy water and was surprised at how little water I get, so I checked on the pricing again and see that the pricing is now at

[Block 0 to 6 : 1.8kl @ R 43.79

Going into Block 2 Citiq's price is R61.26

While the city of Cape Town charges R30.96 for Block 2

After buying water twice at R23.37 the price almost doubled and is almost double of what City of Cape Town charges. Without any notice or reason for the increase in price

Citiq also promised a voucher pin what I guessed to be for the basic free water. THIS ALSO NEVER HAPPENED.

As per my understanding the Landlord must provide prove to Citiq of their water and electricity cost, I would think this is done before meters are installed. This does not explain why the electricity price was dropped and water price was doubled. It just sems like this entire situation must be reviewed by Nersa, Water and Sanitation, Competition commission, City of Cape Town and whoever else regulates this kind of behavior. Maybe we can all have a fun day in court.

It seems being in the prepaid service is very profitable since they can put a 100% markup on their water and I guess on electricity too. Maybe Citiq gives Leeway to Landlords on pricing to lure them into using their meters. I can only speculate and guess this bizarre price changes

I write this entire review under Section 16 of the Constitution
