17 Jul 2015, 16:35Hello Noziefana,
Dear Ms Mohlala
Thank you for your enquiry.
One of our Help Desk staff has contacted you via email with a formal response to your query. He has also tried to call you on your cell number.
In short, the owner of your property has indicated that he is on a BLOCK tariff.
This means that he receives different amounts of electricity at different tariffs, which he then shares with you, as his tenant.
In your case you have been set to an Eskom Homelight block tariff, and you currently receive:
- your first 150 kWh each month at 108c per kWh
- thereafter your units at charges at 183c per kWh
(note that the tariffs exclude management fees of 9.25%+vat)
Given that you have purchased in tokens of R50, the amounts cross over the BLOCKS and result in a slightly different token each time.
You will notice that once you have purchased OVER 150 kWh in a single month, all your tokens will issued at the same price (i.e. the 2nd block)
Please do not hesitate to contact our Help Desk ***) if you require any further details. We can call you back, and it is available 8am to 8pm 7 days a week, to offer you a GREAT customer experience.
Kind regards
