24 Apr 2023, 13:17Good Day Darren,
As per our telephonic discussions, we've explained that Citiq Prepaid does not pay the municipality directly for the electricity consumed on the property.
The service that Citiq Prepaid provides is a recovery service to owners/landlords (in this case it would be for the body corporate) and the recovery is for the purchases made on the sub-meters. The body corporate is the entity responsible to pay for the council bill that is received monthly.
Kindly note, only the council has the authority to cut the supply of power and to reinstate the power supply, Citiq Prepaid does not sell electricity and our meters cannot replace a council meter. The power supply can only come from the main meter and the sub-meters cannot work without the main council meters supply.
Some of the owners of the units have made contact with us and are aware of the above and will be in contact with the municipality for assistance with this matter as only they can reinstate the power supply for the complex.
We trust that this provides clarity but if there is anything else that you require assistance with, please don't hesitate to contact us.
