First of all, we get electricity from eskom at R1.84 per unit. Citiq charges R2.70 per unit for the first block. Then they take 8.45% and another 3.45 % of your payments for their fees, over and above the 86 cents profit they add per unit of electricity. A unit cost R3-60 at the end of the day after they added all their charges and profit. They further advise you to use their app to purchase electricity but the app doesn't work for purchases. The best advice their call center can give you is go buy somewhere else.
