CIPC changes company name without authorization from owners

We lodged a company with CIPC in March, 2017. The company was registered with a number. We then reserved a name and app**** for the reserved name to be app**** to the company registration number. CIPC declined the name attachement stating insufficient documentation had been provided. We opened a ticket to contest as both directors had supp**** all the needed paperwork.

CIPC closed the ticket, stating that the issue had been resolved. The company remained with a registration number, but we would need to apply to attach the reserved name a second time.

Both directors decided to register a different name, which was successful. We then app**** to have the name attached to the company registration number. This was successful on the 23 March, 2017. A certificate with our name was issued (COR 14.3)

Two days later, we recieved a notification from CIPC that the original name had been registered on the company number. This AFTER having been told we did not supply the needed documents. And the ticket CLOSED by CIPC.

We opened a new ticket demanding to know why the name had been changed without our mandate? CIPC then repsonded that we should pay an extra R75 to have the spelling of the name changed. Also, the process is now a lenthy one which involves more paperwork and submission.

CIPC representatives have not responded to explain why the name was declined, and have refused to honor the name change that was processed on the 23 March, without us paying for it.

A name change was declined by CIPC, then a new name processed and attached, a certificate issued, and then the declined name app**** two days later. And CIPC now claim a spelling error and want us to pay more for their mistake? Furthermore, the response from the complaints via opening a ticket, do not allow for a conversation. The person responding to our ticket, writes a message and closes the ticket once they ar fed up with the communication.
