POOR HANDLING OF STUDENT GRIEVANCES
I wrote a CIMA exam at one of their exam centres. During the exam which was computerized exam the computer stopped responding, the computer had to be rebooted which took a while then I continued with the exam. After a few minutes the was a power failure, the computer switched off, I had to wait for the back-up generator to restore power. When power was restored I continued with the exam. The exam was for 3 hours (11:00 to 14:00). To my surprise the exam ended about 15 minutes before 14:00 even though I had not skipped a section or finished a section before the allocated time had lapsed and there were also interruption which lasted for about 25 minutes. I told to the invigilator after the exam that I don't think I was given all sections of the exam to complete because the exam did not last 3 hours. She said she is sure everything went well. When the result were released, I found that I had failed by 4 marks. I wrote to CIMA to inform them about what happened during the exam. They said I should have informed them within 14 days. Their policy does not allow them to investigate after the 14 days. As an institution that privides it's self on quality and fairness, Cima should have taken time to investigate my case and find out if my exam was fair instead hiding behind a policy. You can't have a policy that prevents you from seeing to that your customers are treated fairly and happy. They should have a quastionaire after the exam to check if the students are happy about the exam conditions and facilities. I am very disappointed at how my case was handled. Now I have to pay for another exam and prepare again, when I'm not sure that my previous exam was fair or not.
