Cilltec advertised low inspection fees but ******* on unnecessary repair costs

It was the second time I used this company for an electrical inspection over a period of time when selling my property, the first time 2015 I sold my house in Pinehurst they did an inspection. Considering the house was relatively new only three years old they charged me over five thousand rand for repair work before they would issue a CoC. More recently I contacted them again for an inspection also in Pinehurst and notwithstanding that I had a CoC that was only a year old but because of a clause in the contract the CoC had to be issued within a period of six months of the date of signing the OTP. After the inspection that only took seven minutes the inspector pointed out three items that needed attention, two warning stickers one on the DB one on the box outside the house and garage light to be covered. When I received the official report after phoning them for it, there was an exhaustive list of items not pointed out on the day that included a photo of a disconnected earth spike used for solar panels that were removed (hence the previous year old CoC) and other repairs that needed to be done before they would issue the CoC. When I pointed out to them that the house had its own earthing system when built and that in the photo they took was used for solar panels, they responded that I must approach the electrician who issued the previous year old CoC. It’s all about the money. CoC’s are a ******* companies issuing these holding property owners to ransom knowing that a CoC is a legal requirement for registration they find fault and generate a repair sheet with in most cases unnecessary costs. Cilltec leading the pack. Some companies quote a low inspection cost again like Cilltec at four hundred and fifty rand but make up their money with long repair list costs. I eventually got in another registered electrician who did a more comprehensive inspection testing each and everything at a thousand four hundred rand that took longer than an hour causing me great anxiety in respect of possible repair costs but to my surprise he found no fault and issued the CoC. This was an electrician with integrity no favors no short cuts and to the book inspection so much so that I have employed him to inspect my new house for compliance.
