CIB Insurers and ********s ****** us
CIB\P585767 - We had a ******* on 28 September 2023. CIB only decided to repair our front door on the 12th of October (2 Weeks late) after we had to follow up and send emails requesting on the progress of the claim. Our claim consisted of TV's, Laptops, clothing, Cell phones, only to mention a few. The ******* occurred while our son and domestic was in the house (fortunately no serious injuries apart from continued visits to the psychiatrist). We has SAP on site and they took statements from everyone. We completed all necessary documentation that same evening and submitted the claim the next day. The assessor visited us on the 02nd of October 2023 explaining that we need to produce proof of purchases for all items claimed. However, most of my clothes, TV's, cell phones jewelry, laptop and towels? was purchased over time and obviously do not have the slips anymore. We could however produce proof of purchase of a laptop we bought our son two months ago for R18 000. One of the TVs was replaced by them about 5 months ago due to lighting. And we produced pictures of the items in the house (the ones we could find) but needless to say we had clothes, jewelry, cell phones, laptops, TV's, play station 4, bath towels colognes etc as we have a average household. Our total claim was about 80 000 and CIB decided today (Three weeks later) to pay us R18 000 out! That is basically only my son's laptop. To top it all, they decide to send a "Asset Survey Risk Specialist" to my house on 12 October for an assessment. This report is clearly very inflated as per below: Audio and Video - R 46 092.00 - 1 Amp and speakers? Computer and Office - R 50 293.00 - One old desktop and printer? Sports equipment - R 48 800.00 - Old Golf Clubs? Clothing - R 110 000.00 - ???????? To name a few
After this assessment we were told that we are under insured but for everything that we just lost (valuable items such as jewelry, laptops, cell phones, TV's, Play station 4, clothing, etc) they want to pay me out R 18 000.00.
I will not stand for this as we have been ****** twice - by the ********s and CIB Insurers... I will use all avenues possible as a consumer and spread the word as far as possible to prevent this company from getting away with this kind of behaviour...

After your automated response on Wednesday 18 October 2023, I have not received any update/feedback as stated above. This claim has been dragging for over a month. We queried the VAR that took a day to complete. However, after submitting quotations on actual replacement cost, a week late we are still waiting for your risk department to review.
This is shocking service to say the least.
