CIA the insurer where you are on your own

We experienced a mini tornado on 17/2 with many homes affected and subsequently lodged a claim for storm damage on the same day. A number of huge trees came down causing damage and destruction to the home. The required photos with feedback were provided to the broker and as it was an emergency we were told to proceed with the quote from a local small tree felling business. Further quotes were sourced for the other damage and forwarded. An assessor was eventually appointed and we were then advised that a 2nd quote would be required. Currently, 22/3, still not a single payment made and we have had rain again and have to pay all from own savings. Broker says CIA management are still assessing. Perhaps consider an insurer that is more considerate in getting claims settled. Other homes with similar damages have all been settled.
