Unnecessary excessive quote given

<p>At the end of May this year I contacted Chubb Security in Durban to request that they link up the existing alarm system in my house to provide me with armed response.</p> <p>They sent a technician who looked at the system and told me the keypad was faulty and would need to be replaced. He put a call through to his office and requested they send me a quotation.</p> <p>The quote I received was very high and included the cost of a new gel battery.</p> <p>I made enquiries and purchased a new battery at almost half the cost of the one quoted. I was informed by the technical manager that they no longer use the gel batteries,I paid 50% deposit for the technician to replace my keypad excluding the cost of the battery. I connected this to the control panel and left the switch on for it to charge. The next day the key pad was working. I contacted Chubb and complained they had quoted me incorrectly and that there was nothing wrong with my keypad and asked them to arrange to refund my money and link up my system.</p> <p>The link up was done at no additional charge, but i have been told I will have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for my refund. It has already been 4. This is disgusting and totally unacceptable. I will be giving notice at the end of this month to cancel my contract with Chubb. </p>
