No remorce for old IOD employees

It saddens me to know that such a big company such as CHUBB security has no feeling for old employees whom was shot while n duty.

The employee was sent home 17 years ago with a verbal understanding that he will be medically boarded and that the compay will be in contact with him regarding this matter.

Up untill today CHUBB has not done what they said they would do. After numerous effords to try and resolve the situation the employee left the matter and was forced to go out and look for employment to support his family. He lost both his houses in the process. His health is also now taking a turn and getting to the point where is is loosing feeling in his legs. He needs to get medicall attantion and can not afford so as he can not work any more.

Since mid 2016 i have been trying to assist the employee in this matter by getting in contact with the relevant employees at CHUBB via e-mail. I was sent from one person to another. Eventually I got through to the Group IR Manager. I was informed that SOME information was gathered from payroll that the emplyee was actually emplyed at the company some years ago, but they do not know what the matter is all about. There is no record of the IOD. An investigation was put on the role, and yet no information was gathered.

He was then sent a UI19 stating that they have medically boarded him. He was also sent a salary scale in witch they stated that he earned but only one third of the salary that he was actually earning.

NOW CHUBB wants proof of salary in the form of a bank statement or a payslip.

Where is the employee suppose to get that after 17 years if he does not even have the same bank account as that time.

Surely there should be reccords of his salary at payroll if they have his employment number witch they placed on his UI19?

CHUBB does not even have a IRP5 for the employee. How does that work??

On the 10th of March 2017 the employee received a letter from CHUBB's Group Industrial Relations Manager witch states that the company "CHUBB" considers the matter closed.

HOW????

According to me, if you did not sign any documents when you are TOLD that the company is going to medically board you, or you did not resign nor were you fired or retrenched, you are legally still an employee of the company????

THUS. You should be getting your monthly salary, plus your leave pay, plus your yearly increase up untill the day you sign documents from the company stating the situation for the termination of your employment. IF you are then medically boarded you should get a monthly income from the company seeing as it was a IOD.

PLEASE HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS NOT BEING DONE?????
