Leaving Elderly Customers Vulnerable
National Security and Fire recently took over the security company we've been using and were here yesterday to replace the radio. While they were testing the new radio our siren suddenly stopped working and we were told it would have to be replaced. Initially we were told that the job would be done on Monday, but when we insisted that we needed to be safe over the weekend, the technician promised to come after lunch today. When he didn’t come, I phoned National Security offices and was told nobody could come today AS THERE WAS NO LONG LADDER AVAILABLE. It took a lot of shouting on my part before the lady made a plan to send a technician after five pm. It’s now nearly seven pm and nobody has come. When I phoned to find out about his continued absence, I was told MAYBE he will still come. If he doesn’t I will have to cancel important plans for the weekend as I cannot leave the house without a siren. Even then our safety will be compromised as we and our neighbours will not be warned of any possible danger. In addition to letting a customer down over a matter of safety, at no stage has anyone bothered to let us know that they weren’t coming. It’s not our responsibility to chase them when an appointment has been made. And how is it possible that a big company which is responsible for their clients’ safety can only have one long ladder? Is this a way to treat new clients? Is this a way to treat ANY clients?
