Chubb and National security just as bad as before

Towards the end of 2021 National Security bought out our local security company Combat Force - who incidentally were well respected in our area.

Like most clients of Combat Force we weren't notified of this take over. So when our alarm went off a couple of months later we received a call from a call center in KZN from an unknown company called National telling us that our alarm had gone off and asking us for our secret code!

Understandably I was reluctant to part with our password - I mean who are National and what right do they have to ask me for my password! I contacted Combat Force the following day and was told that they had been taken over by National. This preamble is indicative of National's total disregard for client safety and security and complete lack of client communication.

It brought back memories of a really, and I mean really bad experience we had around 6 years ago with a company called Chubb. They were utterly hopeless and one of the worst companies we've ever dealt with. We fired them after months and months of complaints with no resolution. Well it turns out not surprisingly that National is nothing more than a rebranded Chubb.

Fast forward a couple of months.

Three weeks ago at the beginning of February 2022 we had a problem with the alarm triggering in our kitchen. A National technician came around but was unable to resolve the problem and said they would need to rewire the entire kitchen - and they would get a quote to us ASAP. They left after disabling the kitchen zone on our alarm.

It's been three weeks now and we are still waiting for a quote. After numerous phone calls and emails - we were told today that they didn't know the details of the job and that they would send a technician around at 12:30 to determine the scope of the work - so that they could give us a quote.

No apologies for putting us at risk for the past three weeks with an unsecured - inactive zone or that they'd forgotten to give me a quote. I honestly don't think they even considered our security. The National technician was due at our house over two hour ago. Based on past experience I doubt they will arrive today - but I suppose I'll just have to wait around on the off chance they do.

If you are considering National Security - I strongly suggest that you find a better security company. Chubb may have a new name - National Security - but they clearly are just as inept and inconsiderate as they were previously.
