BEING CHARGED R300 JUST TO CHANGE SURNAME AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES

We called Chubb to change my wife surname on her account from her ****en surname to her marriage surname. After sending through certified copies of marriage certificate and new I.D with new surname on it, we were told that we could not do it this way but a salesman will have to come out to us.

All other company accepted this but not Chubb.

The sales guy came out to the house and told my wife that she will have to sign a new contract just to change her surname. As we wanted the invoices to reflect her marriage surname she agreed.

After all paperwork was signed and the sales man was about to leave he told her that we will be charged for him having to come out to us and sign a new contract. Also the sales guy refused to leave a copy of the contract with us.

Firstly we submitted document to them and they they didn't accept it and sent someone out.

At this time my wife was on her last few days of giving birth and i was at work.

Once i arrived home, my wife informed me about what happened. we immediately called Chubb and they stated that they will get back to us.

On numerous we called them and spoke to billing managers and sales managers and they just kept telling us that they will get back to us.

We then received a mail from the billing manager that we will not be charged and we have proof in a email that she has sent us.

Thinking that all was sorted, today Chubb debit order deduction included monthly instalment and the amount promised not to be deducted.

We forever having problems with Chubb regarding bad service. The only reason i am still with them is due to a pay out clause on contract. Which i believe is very unfair and wrong also as when we purchased the house we currently living in, it had an alarm system in it already.

We just sick and tired of their services and how they are robbing us.
