Backup battery does not last

My chubb alarm system is less than a year old and the backup battery does not even last 5 minutes. Chubb blames it on ESKOM and wants me to buy a new battery. A backup is supposed to handle electricity failures. This is unacceptable and customers must be made aware of this before subscribing to chubb.
